At first, this sign, seen a long time ago at Lindbergh Field in San Diego, seemed quite innocuous. One might not even give it a 2nd thought. But, having successfully completed the Remedial English class at Syracuse University, I DID give it a second thought. “Hmmm , I thought, I AM a ticketed passenger, so according to that directive I can only be over there –beyond that sign! Well there goes my idea of going back to the gift shop or the restroom…”
I brought it to the attention of the airport manager (that was back when flying was fun and authorities a lot friendlier). The next time I was back at Lindbergh Field, I noticed that the sign was changed to read "Ticketed Passengers Only Beyond This Point."
(OK. So its Saturday, no football games of interest today, an I’m bored…)

Okay, seriously... this is why I know that I am of average intelligence and not "gifted". Only someone of this intelligence would catch ponder this type of thing!

The wording of the "sign" is ambiguous in both examples.
I think the best way to say it would be "Only ticketed passengers beyong this point."
