Name the person, the year, the place & the circumstan-ces.
Hint: The background is a red vinyl back seat of a station wagon and notice that there is no child restraint...
Life goes on in this wonderful retirement community. I am surrounded by my loving family and friends. Life is good!

Easy.
Lori.
1963.
Cross-country move to California in the back seat of a Comet.
I don't know who that is, but that is one cute kid, one cool vinyl red, and one very great photo.
Oh my goodness, as soon as I opened up your blog I knew it was me. Hard to believe.
It's actually the first time I have looked at myself as a child through the eyes of a parent. Sigh.
What WAS the circumstance?
PS
Judi, that I seriously a good memory. Dad, is she right?
Judi, the elder, is right on all counts. She was 6, David was 5, Lori was 19 months. Mike was -2. Everyone should drive across the country with a bunch of kids in a small car...ONCE.
The photo is available because I finally found a way to convert my old 35mm slides to a digital image. I now am the owner of a HP Scanjet G4050 flatbed scanner which does this along with other marvelous things such as photo and document scanning. For documents, I can create .pdf files and untimately Word files (there's an OCR somewhere in there).
Cute. I thought that might be Lori. I don't remember this because I was still an egg at this point...lol
I'll never forget that trip. Not only should everyone "drive across the country with a bunch of kids", but every kid should get the chance to see the USA from a car. ("Sorry" to my kids. We only drove to Yellowstone, Oregon and San Diego, but I think they would agree they were memorable trips.)
Dad, we've had a slide-to-digital scanner for three years. It does ONLY slides and is extremely easy to use. I forget the brand, and don't want to go look (it's in Rick's office). But it holds one slide in the slot, and bing-bang, it's quick. Rick took a bunch of slides from when his kids were young and their mom alive, and made them all a photo album a couple of Christmases past. A BIG hit!
Keep posting here! But I must warn your readers, none of my photos will be as cute as Lori's. She was very photogenic, and was always "the cute one". Mike followed as a close second. ;-)
My guess was Lori before I looked at the other responses (seriously, why would I lie??;-P) I thought she look 3 years old and I had no idea on the circumstances.... Any more???? Mike
Looks aren't everything, as I understand it, I was the most "outspoken" and "sassy/tempermental" of the bunch!
:-0
